Your carpet is a valuable asset.
It is important to look after it well.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE

Regular cleaning: it is recommended to regularly dust your carpet with a rice straw broom, a mechanical broom or a vacuum cleaner. This should be done by following the direction of the carpet’s pile (the “hair”).

Do not beat your carpet: it would damage it and you might break its weft.

If one of the threads is too long: do not pull it out but cut it carefully with a pair of scissors. If other threads come out, please contact us for advice.

The edges: carpets’ selvages and fringes endure constant strain; look after them and contact a specialized restorer as soon as you notice their deterioration. The longer you wait, the more serious the damage will be.

Reinforced protection: if you carpet is delicate or ancient, you have the possibility to request for an additional layer in order to increase its strength.

Be wary of: humidity, high heels, cigarettes burn marks, wine, and moths…

Paint: Remove as much paint as you can. Apply pure turpentine and some absorbing powder. Let it dry and vacuum over the stain.

Mud: Let the mud dry first and then brush it away. Rub the stain with a mixture comprising a small quantity of ammonia (1 tea spoon for one liter of water).

Candle wax: Wait for the wax to dry and rap to break it. Brush it away and vacuum over it. If necessary, use a stain-remover.

Ink: Remove the ink with a piece of blotting paper. Apply a mixture made of water, soap and rubbing alcohol while avoiding to wet the back of the carpet. Dry the carpet regularly during the process.
